1998 Mako 282 Center Console w/ Twin 275 Mercury’s (300 hours)

Introduced in 1995, the Mako 282 is one of the few big-water center consoles able to be towed without an overwide permit. That’s a big plus for anglers who want a trailerable boat with the size and heft to range far offshore. On the downside, a 28-foot boat with such a slender beam will be smaller than most boats her length in terms of cockpit and storage space. Heavily built on a solid fiberglass hull.

Standard features include an integrated dive platform with ladder, 42-gallon transom livewell, U-shaped bow seating, insulated in-deck fish boxes (2), recessed rod storage, gunnel rod holders (4), leaning post with backrest, cooler, console head compartment, in-floor storage (forward), lockable bow storage, front console seat, bow cushions, trim tabs, cockpit lights, and anchor locker. A bow pulpit was optional.

In 1998, the transom tooling was updated to include a transom door and a folding rear bench seat. No lightweight, twin 275hp outboards reach a top speed of around 45 knots.
