Top places and things to do by boat in Pompano Beach
With the city of Pompano Beach being named after 2 somewhat obvious things. The pompano fish and of course the beautiful beaches, there is a wide variety of things to do by boat. In this quick list we will cover the hot spots that residents and visitors alike choose to spend their time when they are not offshore fishing. To the North –
Sands Harbor Resort: Maybe upscale dining isn’t your thing. Maybe you are looking for a quick drink at the Tiki Bar or food and drinks all afternoon. If so, you will feel right at home with the new and improved Sands Harbor. Did we mention they have a swimming pool and amazing frozen drinks. (7-10 minutes) Sands Harbor Website
Exchange Club Park: The Exchange Club Park is assessable by land or sea. There is enough room for several boats to anchor or beach up. As the tide starts coming in the waters begin to turn to a crystal blue color. Great private/small area for park/beach atmosphere with a nice view. It’s great for picnicking with a small to a large group but you must supply your own chairs, tents, etc. No barbecue allowed but bring your own food. (10-12 minutes)
Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse: Looking to see a historic artifact of Pompano Beach’s history first lighthouse, first illuminated on March 8th, 1907. Withstanding quite a few natural disasters (fire & hurricanes) it still stands as a functioning lighthouse to this day. There is a small beach just below the lighthouse that is a popular spot among residents to post up for the afternoon and enjoy the parade of boats coming and going from the inlet.
